We are very pleased to announce that on June 27, 2014, the Greenwich United Way awarded The Food Bank a $14,956 grant for the 2014/2015 fiscal year. The Promoting Self Sufficiency Panel in Community Investment Process that reviewed The Food Bank’s program and funding application noted the following:

“ ‘ Flexible, nimble, and innovative’ are ways the panel described the Food Bank’s operation. They were impressed with Food Bank’s ability to economize, to continuously make changes to allow for additional food storage, and to maintain strong and productive ties to local food retailers. The Panel also noted the decrease in corporate funding but was pleased to see that the Food Bank continues to hold successful fundraisers. The Greenwich United Way recognizes the critical nature of the Food Bank’s services, is proud of its partnership with the organization and is consistently impressed with the quantity and quality of assistance provided to our region’s hungry.”
